Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Elgin

After conducting a thorough intake interview with Bethlehem Lutheran’s pastoral and congregational leadership teams, we identified the church’s key differentiators, clarified their primary message, and refined their core internal messaging. Armed with their new Brand Identity Playbook, we turned our focus to developing their visual brand.

The church, originally designed and founded by Scandinavian immigrants many years ago, is home to a stunning floor-to-ceiling stained glass window—a cherished feature for long-time members and a highly recognizable landmark in the broader community. Having successfully used this window as hero imagery for holiday invitations in previous years, we built on that foundation. By simplifying the window’s shape, we created a versatile icon that works seamlessly across various applications, from a website favicon to large outdoor banners.
